As part of this campaign, we are asking our supporters to contact the candidates who are standing for election to parliament in their constituency. The aim is to ask them to support the pledges unanimously agreed at our conference on "the future of arts & culture" held on 14 March 2015.
(1) to protect and expand public funding for arts & culture

As part of this campaign, we are asking our supporters to contact the candidates who are standing for election to parliament in their constituency. The aim is to ask them to support the pledges unanimously agreed at our conference on "the future of arts & culture" held on 14 March 2015.
(1) to protect and expand public funding for arts & culture
(2) to make sure public funding for arts & culture meets the condition of minimum standards of pay and employment
(3) to ensure transparency of any sponsorship in arts & culture and to promote ethical policies in cultural institutions
(4) to promote democratic accountability in publicly funded cultural bodies and investigate corporate interests present on governing bodies
(5) to ensure the funding and promote the role of art education in society, including free access to education
(6) to tackle inequalities of access to arts & culture and its funding and to develop a socially progressive arts policy
You can identify who the candidates are from the "Your Next MP" website, (https://yournextmp.com/). They can be found either by selecting from a list of constituencies or by using your postcode. Once you have found the candidates for your constituency, you can obtain an email address by clicking on the name of each candidate.(3) to ensure transparency of any sponsorship in arts & culture and to promote ethical policies in cultural institutions
(4) to promote democratic accountability in publicly funded cultural bodies and investigate corporate interests present on governing bodies
(5) to ensure the funding and promote the role of art education in society, including free access to education
(6) to tackle inequalities of access to arts & culture and its funding and to develop a socially progressive arts policy
This is an important initiative in the campaign to protect arts budgets and make the case for greater investment. The more emails that candidates receive, the more pressure is exerted upon them to support our demands.
We would be grateful, therefore, for your help to promote the campaign in whatever way you are able to - for example, using social media, including an item on a website (where appropriate), forwarding on this email to friends and contacts., etc.
